How to burn
- 01
Light the coal
Hold a charcoal disc with tongs over a flame until sparks run across it. Set it in a heat-safe burner and let it ash over — about two minutes.

A pinch of bakhoor
Place a small pinch on the coal. Less than you think: the smoke should rise steadily, never billow.
- 03
Let the room fill
Leave the burner where it is, somewhere stable and ventilated. When you are done, let the coal burn out completely before you clear it.
