Concentrated BakhoorNear-black, moist and clumped, with an oily sheen — finer and wetter than wood.
Arabic GlueClear, glassy tears — hold one to the light and it glows through. Not to be confused with Frankincense.
Sandal Vanilla SugarFrosted in coarse, sparkling sugar crystals, with slivers of sandalwood through it.Not to be confused with White Jawi.Hold a charcoal disc with tongs over a flame until sparks run across it. Set it in a heat-safe burner and let it ash over — about two minutes.
Place a small pinch on the coal. Less than you think: the smoke should rise steadily, never billow.
Leave the burner where it is, somewhere stable and ventilated. When you are done, let the coal burn out completely before you clear it.
